About us
Established in 1952, Redwood Parents Nursery School (RPNS) is a non-profit, parent-education, cooperative preschool in Redwood City.
​
RPNS is a special co-op due to our amazing community, loving teachers and learn through play philosophy. We host many community building events (some for the full family and some just for the adults) so parents can find their village through our doors.
​
We are also a part of the California Council of Parent Participation of Nursery Schools (CCPPNS), which expands our library of knowledge on preschool aged children even further. Through the council, we have opportunities such as Parent Resource Night, which invites scholarly speakers to present on topics ranging from sleep and toilet training to limit setting and more.

One common phrase you hear from older generations of RPNS alumni is “we’ve been friends since our RPNS days.” And with over 73 years as a parent co-op in Redwood City, we have the community to prove it. Join us today and become a part of a long lasting legacy at Redwood Parents Nursery School.
Mission Statement
It is our concern that this program contributes in a vital way to the optimum growth and development of each child; that each parent find understanding and support for self; increased knowledge and understanding about the way children grow and develop; and opportunity to test and practice some of these ideas.
